Trailer Tuesday: Invictus

After several months of keeping tight-lipped on the details of his latest film, Clint Eastwood, that wretched genius of a man, has finally decided to grace us with a trailer for Invictus.

Click Here for the Apple Exclusive.

Here's the catch. I can't embed it here; you need to follow the above link to Apple and watch it in Quicktime. If you can't be bothered to do so, check back in a bit. I'll embed as soon as I can get my pirate's hook on a YouTube upload.

As long as I keep my eyes away from last year's Gran Torino, I can boast nothing but praise for the legendary director who brought Unforgiven, Mystic River, and Letters from Iwo Jima to the screen. He may have the social grace of a venomous cobra, but Eastwood knows how to pack an emotional punch in a masterful way. And judging from the trailer, his biography of Nelson Mandella appears to be just what we expected it might be all along — without so much as a screencap to go on — a real contender for Best Picture.

  1. Eastwood + Freeman + Damon + biopic = whole lot of Oscar love.

Question, Suzanne: You embed YT vids so nicely. I download mine and then upload to my blog... do you do it from the YouTube website?

  2. Yep. When you find the video you want, there's a code on the right side of the page. Just copy it and paste into your post. You must be editing in html, though.

  3. Do you think that that is an actual picture of Nelson Mandella on the movie poster or is it Freeman? I mean, I'm guessing it's Freeman but in that picture he looks exactly like Mandella.
