Happy Thanksgiving!

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving holiday this morning.

For various reasons, I'm spending my first major holiday away from my family in favor of spending it with friends in Boston. It feels strange, but in the spirit of new traditions, I'm making the best of my time today.

For example, I'll be watching Pieces of April (2003), and perhaps I'll be able to persuade you to do the same.

Written and directed by Peter Hedges (What's Eating Gilbert Grape), Pieces of April details the Thanksgiving holiday of a rebellious daughter (played by Katie Holmes, but I promise you she's not awful here) living in New York City with her boyfriend who invites her estranged family over for dinner. Patricia Clarkson plays her mother, and she was even nominated for an Oscar for this role in 2004.

Again, Happy Thanksgiving! I have so much to be thankful for, and that includes everyone reading this blog.
