I slacked off a bit this weekend in not mentioning the BFCA awards, which aired on VH1 Friday night. You may want to google the winners, because BFCA surprisingly has one of the best track records as far as precursors go. Personally, I wish they hadn't signed the show over to VH1 a few years back, as the actual ceremony was pure trash (Chenowith included). I preferred the BFCA when their show was more of an intimate press conference, like this video from almost ten years ago:
Tonight, we have the Golden Globes, which really get far too much credit than they deserve. The nominations and winners are determined by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which shares very few members with the Academy.
However, they're still fun to watch, maybe even moreso than the Oscars.
